Not always it is a single to implement persecutory attitudes towards a victim. It may happens instead it is a group of friend or even an entire community.

The most sensational italian case come to light in February 2010 and filled the pages of newspapers. The story is about a 24 years old girl of the province of Reggio Calabria raped by a bunch of villagers in 2000 at the age of 13.

After finding  the strength to report the matter to the authorities, then the minor was victim of a lynching by relatives and friends of the twelve arrested for violencesex group. For years the girl, now come of age, continued to be the target of insults and threats. The continuing harassment had forced her to upset even the normal lifestyle ( leaving home to go shopping or find a job)  and had led to develop a constant state of anxiety and fear to the point of onset phobias. With  With the introduction of the crime of stalking the young could apply to the Chief getting the warning for acts of 6 persecutors. 

This story  has highlighted the subtle complicity of the inhabitants of the whole country who knowing of the ongoing violence had continued for years to pretend nothing has happened.

A story extreme but unfortunately not isolated.

This version of stalking, as a group phenomenon, seems to arise as punitive approach of a community while making a person who is partperceived as alien or different. A form of psychological pressure that force a person to adapt himself  to the majority.

We can find also a group of people persecuted by a single individual. Although this form is moremild compared to the previous one because in this case the victims, if they belong to the same context, can sympathize with each other.

Again no shortage of examples. Near Como (in the North of Italy), a man of 35 years has been denounced by the entire building (7 families)for stovesnight noises, the constant teasing and repeated physical assaults. The man was sentenced to one year and 10 months in prison, and he will will pay a thousand euro compensation to each family.

Other times stalking became a kind of war between two opposing gangs, two different groups of condominiums.

Denmark
